The Mentoring Partnership of Southwestern Pennsylvania (TMP) serves as the lead resource for mentoring in Southwestern PA.  We work to advance mentoring within the region and provide technical assistance and training to more than 150 local mentoring programs and thousands of mentors.  Our mission is to maximize the potential for mentoring to transform the lives of young people so that they may reach their full potential.

Position Summary

TMP is currently seeking a Program Assistant to join our team.  This part-time, flexible position will work with the Program Operations and Special Projects Coordinator to provide necessary support in delivery of high-quality customer service, training, and program development for mentoring programs, their staff and volunteers

Responsibilities

  • Develop a mentoring program advisory committee and provide oversight
  • Assist with coordination of network meetings and workshop series for mentoring program advisory committee
  • Conduct research of active mentoring programs throughout Western PA and update database as appropriate
  • Create program engagement report cards detailing program engagement with TMP
  • Implement an outreach plan to increase workplace mentoring engagement
  • Assist with mentor/mentee referrals
  • Assist with technical assistance services and activities associated with high-quality mentoring as needed
  • Other duties as needed

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree required.

Skill and Competency Requirements

  • A passion for mentoring and TMP’s mission.  Demonstrated dedication to youth, mentorship and collaboration to benefit the community. 
  • Ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers and collaborators from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong understanding of youth development and of the mentoring field.
  • Excellent oral/written presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience working with technology and Salesforce experience is a plus.   
  • Ability to work with diverse audiences and travel throughout the city and surrounding counties.
  • Training and facilitation experience a plus.

Position Details

  • Part-time position, up to 25 hours per week; flexible schedule.
  • Pay rate: $21/hour.
  • Provides opportunity to connect with staff and volunteers of 150 mentoring programs. 
    Can work remote, but must be available for in-person meetings and events as needed.
