Thank Your Mentor Spotlight: Richard Thomas, Pittsburgh CLO

Published

Someone who has been a mentor to me...

Aside from my parents, who were my most important mentors, I have learned throughout my career from the various actors and directors I've worked with.  As a child actor, I always learned from the people who played my parents.  And any colleague I admire, I consider a teacher.  Maybe, though, we should let ourselves be mentored by the entire world.

Why is mentoring important for everyone?

We are being mentored all the time, even by people who may present us with problems and challenges.   The world is our teacher.  And the people who take a special interest in us are treasures in our lives.

A message for my mentor...

I would just say, "I can't repay you, but I can thank you and try to carry forth what you taught me."
