Introduction to TMP Services & Elements of Effective Practice

Wednesday, June 21, 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

This informational session is intended to introduce mentoring programs to the technical assistance, training, and network services provided by The Mentoring Partnership. The foundation of our services is based on the six Elements of Effective Practice, a collection of research-informed practices for youth mentoring programs. You will learn those elements as part of this session. Attending this training is also the first step in the Quality Coaching process. Sessions are currently being done virtually. You must be registered to attend. Registration will close 2 days before the scheduled session. Click here to register!

Program Development

Show your mentoring program's impact through data and evaluation!
Data is important in sharing your program's story and showing the impact that mentoring has on the lives of young people. It can also be a lot of work to establish a successful and effective evaluation plan to collect and analyze what you need. Summer is the perfect time to revamp your program's data collection and evaluation process to ensure that it's ready for the next program year, and TMP is here to help you do that through no-cost technical assistance! If you'd like support for setting up evaluation processes, data collection and analysis, or developing evaluation tools such as surveys, contact us today! Reach out to Ashley Wineland at awineland@mentoringpittsburgh.org.

TMP's New Website

TMP's home on the Internet just got a little refresh and we're thrilled to share it with you! Visit MentoringPittsburgh.org to check out some of our newest web features, including an interactive training section, that can help you identify mentor training that's right for you. Our new site was designed to meet WCAG 2.1 Web Accessibility Standards, so our quality mentoring resources are now more accessible to more people who want to champion strong relationships for youth!

LGBTQ Supplement to the Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring

The LGBTQ Supplement to the Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring™ responds to a long-standing call to extend the reach and quality of mentoring relationships to one of our nation’s most underserved, marginalized, and vulnerable populations -- youth who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQQ). Research has noted that a large number of LGBTQ youth are facing difficult odds every day. As a response to the concerns, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and MENTOR are committed to improve mentoring services to all youth across the country. Celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride

In June, we celebrate Pride and elevate stories of joy and connection, while remembering how Pride originated. The Stonewall Rebellion was a protest led by people of color that sought to defend the LGBTQ+ community from police brutality, a persisting issue that continues to disproportionately affect Black people, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community. During Pride and beyond, join us in supporting LGBTQ+ youth, rewiring inequitable systems, and standing up against the tragedies and realities of systemic racism, bigotry, and violence.
