We All Have a Role to Play in Supporting Young People

Back to school season is in full swing, and so is recruitment for mentoring organizations! Many mentoring programs are looking for a caring adult, just like you, to become a mentor!

Whether you are interested in becoming involved in a mentoring program or not, we believe it's still important to learn effective ways of helping young people. To help get you started, here are four helpful tips when working with youth:

  • Get to know the young person
  • Take turns leading conversations
  • Be transparent and willing to share mistakes
  • Have the desire to help youth reach their full potential

As caring adults, we all have a role to play in supporting young people.
