Yesterday was Juneteenth - a day that celebrates the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth is an important day to commemorate and teach children about. Here’s a list of ways to continue the Juneteenth celebration with the youth in your life:
- Help teens (18 years of age or older) register to vote
- Support Black-owned businesses
- Explore Zoom classes from The National Museum of African American History and Culture
- Read a book about Juneteenth
- Encourage youth to talk about history in a way that feels right for them
