Using Stories to Support and Celebrate

Let's Do This

Literacy is a powerful tool for belonging and understanding. When children see themselves and others reflected in the pages of a book, they gain confidence, expand their worldview, and feel a greater sense of connection.

And during Pride Month, we can be intentional about helping the young people in our lives find books that celebrate differences and build empathy for others.

Whether through picture books or graphic novels, stories can offer developmentally appropriate entry points to explore kindness, self-expression, and what it means to be part of a community.
