Teaching Youth What They Can Control
When engaging with young people, it is easy to sense their frustration as they encounter situation after situation that they have no control over in their lives. We can relate to that. There are so many instances each day that we encounter situations we can’t control. But as we continue to grow, we learn what we can control: our emotions, our reactions, our effort and our attitudes. When we model this for youth, we provide them with an opportunity to ask us about how they can gain control over their lives.
Supporting youth means helping them recognize what they can control. Check out this great infographic as you challenge young people to learn about the power within themselves.
