Teaching Kids About Digital Safety

Digital safety is important for kids of all ages, especially now as many of our activities -- including school and extracurriculars! -- have switched to a virtual format.  It's important to educate young people about their digital footprint and the importance of surfing the web safely.  

As you look for ways to talk with young people about their online activity, stick with age-appropriate explanations.  For example, this traffic light analogy from Common Sense Media is perfect for younger kids.  A more in-depth discussion about digital citizenship might be more appropriate for tweens and teens.
