Resources for Caring Adults and Everyday Mentors

If you're seeing this, then you've probably signed up for weekly Everyday Mentoring tips. Thank you for your continued commitment to being a more caring adult to young people! While these tips are a great way to keep learning more, there are also many other resources out there for you. Here are just a few that are continuously helpful to us!

Becoming a Better Mentor: Strategies to Be There for Young People
MENTOR’s free resource written by experts in the field to benefit any adult looking to support young people. Full of real-world advice and evidence-based strategies, it provides mentors with tangible strategies to “be there” for young people.

Encouragement Cards for Kids
An easy way to send a few quick words to encourage, inspire or check in can go a long way…especially when it comes to the young people in your life!  TMP and Fred Rogers Productions have teamed up to create encouragement cards that make it easy to let kids know you care and that you’re thinking about them.

Mentoring 101 Training
Held once a month on a Saturday, this training is free to register for and attend! Spend some time with us to learn about mentoring and topics like the "mentoring lifecycle," communication skills, establishing boundaries, and appreciating diversity. This training is appropriate to introduce new volunteers to the field of mentoring and to refresh current mentors on best practices and can help make it easier for mentors to navigate relationships with their mentees.

We even have Everyday Mentoring info available in Spanish -- check it out here!
