Preparing Youth for the Holidays
The holidays are going to look a lot different this year for some of us, and this might be really disappointing to young people who look forward to yearly traditions and seeing loved ones. Talk with young people about the holidays ahead of time, listen to their thoughts and feelings and share your own. You can then include them in the process of planning new ways to celebrate. Work together to think about what other fun and meaningful things you are able to do and other ways you can connect with people you won't be able to see in person. While we might wish that we could spend the season like we usually do, this time can also be an opportunity to explore new traditions and ways of connecting.
