Playgrounds and Public Spaces During COVID 19

Many playgrounds and public spaces are still open and accessible for energetic youth to enjoy during these bright and warm summer days.

But if you’re planning a visit to your nearest public slide or swing set, there are still things we should be aware of and steps we should take to minimize risk. Make sure to pack hand sanitizer and wear a mask if there are others around. Discuss with children the importance of keeping a physical distance, but remember that it can be a lot harder for them and they might forget. When you leave, you might also consider taking some additional precautions like sanitizing the car, washing hands and changing clothes or showering.

It's unlikely that kids will follow all guidelines exactly and that’s okay. Anything that they’re able to do will minimize risk and you can help keep them safe by teaching and showing them so they understand.
