Helping Students with Schoolwork

The school year is in full swing, and that can mean lots of homework and projects. Homework can be difficult and stressful for many students. If you’ve noticed a young person in your life struggling with one or more school subjects, here are some ways you can help:

  • Encourage them to not wait to ask for help
  • Examine the task or problem and help them break it down
  • Help them identify and write down what they already know
  • Develop a plan together for getting it done

By supporting students through their schoolwork struggles, we can help them develop perseverance and value their own effort and success.

In this article, the Search Institute provides a more comprehensive list of strategies you can use to help struggling students.
