Goal Setting for the New Year

Before 2022 ends, help youth reflect on the past year. Ask them, “What went well this year?” and “What do you wish went differently?” to help them jog their memory. If 2022 wasn’t the best year for them, help them get excited for 2023!

Help your young person set some intentions for the new year. Ask if they have any New Year’s resolutions or goals planned. Whether they’ve decided to focus on getting straight A’s, mastering a sport, or picking up a new hobby - ask how they plan to accomplish their goals. If they are looking for advice, ask them how you can help keep them on the right track and how they’d like to celebrate progress in the new year. Happy goal setting!
