Following Up On New Year's Resolutions
Remember those goals or resolutions you set at the beginning of the year? Keep yourself and your young person on the right track by revisiting those goals and tracking your progress.
A way to do this is to keep the goal displayed where it will be seen and regularly check in with your young person about the goal. Avoid any judgment of their progression but offer specific and positive feedback. They might decide that the goal as they originally planned it just isn't working - that's okay! It's important to change and recalibrate goals when necessary -- that's an essential skill in goal-setting.
The biggest takeaway? Don't forget to celebrate progress! Celebrating the steps you've accomplished, no matter how small, is essential to staying motivated and confident.
