Encouraging an Active, Healthy Lifestyle

March is National Nutrition Month, which makes it the perfect time to talk with a young person about the importance of making smart choices and living a healthy, active lifestyle.  As an adult, how do you try to make informed decisions about what you eat and how you get active?  Our friends over at fitUnited suggest that, in sharing your experiences with a young person, it's important to help them see why they should want to be healthy for themselves.

If making healthy choices isn't part of their daily life now, then they will be less likely to make it a priority as they move toward adulthood.  So help them get started on an early path to lifelong wellness!

Giving kids an opportunity to take an active role in making healthy food and exercise choices will show them that they can take charge of their wellness.  Check out some of these great conversation starters and resources from the fitUnited team and get a conversation going around nutrition with a young person in your life!
