Challenge Growth

Encourage youth to meet their goals.

Do you have a goal right now? Maybe to quit smoking, run a half-marathon, or to save enough to buy your dream home. As adults, we know that we must create plans in order to accomplish our goals. We’ve experienced that without a plan, our goals don’t get met.

Youth have goals too. Maybe to play for the NBA, become a famous singer or to own the latest pair of kicks. At times, their goals can seem unrealistic or frivolous. As adults, we forget that despite a young person’s goals, helping develop a plan to achieve their goal can be tremendously valuable.

If a youth wants to play for the NBA, taking that goal seriously can have unforeseen benefits. Making a plan for physical conditioning and increasing their grade point in order to get a college scholarship to play ball can turn a child’s life around – even if their goals change along the way!

Check out these 5 steps on how you can help young people accomplish their goals.
