Empowering Youth Voice

Let's Do This

It’s Women’s History Month, and we want to empower girls to be leaders. Did you know that more than 50% of girls are uncomfortable taking lead because they think someone will call them bossy? Remind them that their voice matters and that they have ideas and dreams that can come true.

How do we do this?

  • Be a nonjudgmental sounding board
  • Be a knowledgeable resource
  • Be an encouraging and affirming caring adult
  • Engage in or facilitate discussions that prompt reflection and boost young people’s trust in their own abilities
  • Provide youth with social capital, information, and resources to bring their visions to life

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”
