Provide Support

Discussing Mental Health with Youth

Let's Do This

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and it's the perfect time to start (or continue!) conversations about mental health and well-being with the young people in your life.

Emphasize that mental health is just as important as physical health -- mental health is health!  Stress the importance of having a support system and that not everyone benefits from the same type of support. For example, one person may need a listening ear whereas another person might want to be connected with a professional. Let your young person know that you care and are willing to support them in whatever way is most beneficial for them.
