Creating Space for Youth Expression

It’s so easy for us, as adults, to forget what it’s like to be a young person. We forget that we really wanted to be seen as mature, able to make our own decisions and ready to do things on our own.

It's important to remember that, as adults, we MUST create opportunities for youth to exercise their decision-making skills, try things on their own and plan for their next steps. When we don’t create space for this practice, we end up with young adults who don’t know how to grocery shop on a budget, manage their finances or even do their own laundry.
