Creating Space for Different Communication Styles
Let's Do This
As we seek to build connections, it's important to acknowledge that others may have different communication styles than we do. That's especially true as we think about building relationships with the young people in our lives. Pause and really listen. Ask your youth how they prefer to share their thoughts and honor that. Whether it's slowing down a conversation, using visual aids or giving extra time to process, these small shifts build big trust.
This week, choose one interaction where you intentionally adapt your style to meet someone else's needs. Watch how that simple adjustment creates connection.
Stay Inspired
Everyone expresses themselves in their own way. Some use words and others prefer gestures, writing or tech tools. What matters is being patient, present and open.
