Seeing Beyond the Game
| September 4, 2018
Many children play sports because it is a fun activity they can enjoy with their peers. But it isn't all just fun and games! Sports provides many benefits for children and their development. As caring adults, we need to help our kids see beyond the game and remind them that there is more to sports than just winning.
Children can learn a lot through sports! Playing sports helps young people:
- Build character and moral principle through fair play.
- Create friendships they otherwise may not have formed.
- Respect authority and follow the rules of a game.
- Learn to be part of a team and work well with others.
