Children's Books to Teach Empathy and Kindness
| September 16, 2019
Did you know that being kind is actually beneficial to our health? Studies show that doing or witnessing kind things makes us happier and benefits our overall mental health. It’s also contagious – when we observe a kind act, it makes us want to be kind as well.
So how do we teach children in our lives to be kind and compassionate? One simple but effective way is through books. There are numerous children’s books out there that touch on these topics, so check out your local library or bookstore for books about kindness, empathy, compassion and friendship.
Don’t know how or where to start looking? Ask your local librarian for help! Or look for recommended booklists online like this one from HuffPost.
