Youth Connection, a Venango County-based mentoring program, recently asked for nominations for its Mentor of the Year award.  Mentor Kelly Harris was nominated by her mentee Jaz and Jaz's family.  Check out what they had to say!

"Every day I am so thankful Kelly was brought into our family’s life as she has a heart of gold. She is such a godsend to our family. She has always been so supportive to not only Jaz, but our whole family. Kelly is such a wonderful person who has such a beautiful smile and is always so happy and cheerful to be around.  I truly feel she has done everything right with Jaz and I just want her to know how much we love and appreciate her, which is why I feel she should be mentor of the year because we could not have asked for a better mentor."

"I believe my mentor Kelly should be mentor of the year. Every time Kelly and I have the opportunity to be together we always have fun, but some of my favorite things I like to do with her is to go bowling, go to the movies and just spending time together. Kelly is such a wonderful person to be around and always so cheerful. Kelly has helped me through some tough times that I have been through. She has helped me feel more comfortable around other people and helped me have more friends and not be so much of a loner. She has kept me happy and also made sure to try her best to come to my events at school to show her support. I just want to say thank you and that I love her! I really appreciate what she does for me and I am very grateful to her for introducing me to new experiences we are able to do together like the Renaissance festival. Thank you for being my mentor!"
