Comcast Mentoring Awareness Days
On Saturday, May 9, 2009, The Mentoring Partnership hosted the 5th annual Mentoring Awareness Day at The Waterfront. Year after year, the management of The Waterfont has graciously allowed The Mentoring Partnership and dozens of our partner programs to come talk to shoppers about the impact of mentoring and how they can best get involved.
Thanks to a generous grant from The Comcast Foundation, we will be holding six Comcast Mentoring Awareness Days in both 2009 and 2010 in various locations throughout the region. Through these events we hope to connect with as many potential mentoring volunteers as possible. If you are a prospective mentor, these are great opportunities to come meet staff from a number of different mentoring programs who will be able to share with you the work that they do. If you are a partner mentoring program of ours, these are great opportunities to come address one of the biggest challenges you face: recruiting enough mentors for all of the kids on your waiting lists.
Please contact our Director of Mentor Recruitment, Arlene Sparks, at 412.281.2535 x259 or asparks@mentoringpittsburgh.org with any questions or to register to participate as a program.
