Greater Pittsburgh Mentoring Association Directory
This online directory is a compilation of mentoring programs offered to youth in Allegheny County and the surrounding area.  The programs in the directory offer services to youth from infancy to 21 years.  It is intended to be an informational source for families seeking youth services as well as volunteers interested in exploring mentoring opportunities.  We hope this directory will increase the public's awareness about the value of mentoring programs and foster greater participation in the mentoring opportunities in our area.

Mentoring will be defined for the purposes of this online directory as follows: the development of a positive relationship between a volunteer and a child in need.  Some programs included in this directory offer group mentoring opportunities, featuring the development of a relationship between a volunteer and a small group of young people.  All of the programs offer an opportunity for a young person to connect with a mentor in sustained and supportive relationship, and to exchange ideas and participate in activities together.

We are pleased to provide Allegheny County and extended counties with this online, searchable directory describing the wide variety of mentoring programs available.  We hope the users of this directory will find a program suitable for their needs.  Every effort was made to include those programs involved in mentoring and the development of a personal relationship between a volunteer and a child.
