Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community
Thank you to all of our friends who participated in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community, Saturday, May 22, in Schenley Park! Despite the rain, groups from Pittsburgh Job Corps, Amachi Pittsburgh and Taking Youth Higher's mentoring programs walked the 5k and one-mile fun walk along with many other supporters of mentoring. We registered 76 walkers and raised $1,145 to help fund future mentor training sessions.

Our Mission
The Mentoring Partnership of Southwestern Pennsylvania expands community capacity to support quality-mentoring relationships for youth. It is our vision that every child who wants or needs a mentor has the benefit of a high-quality mentoring experience. Volunteering to become a mentor in the Pittsburgh area can take many forms. Sharing your experiences with a mentee can make a difference in a teenager's life.

Program Spotlight: PA eMentoring
PA eMentoring is designed around 10 post-secondary planning activities that guide communications and lead to a college and career plan for each mentee. Since everything is online, they have been able to overcome many of the time and physical barriers that adults face in volunteering as mentors. At this year's Comcast Mentoring Awareness Day at The Waterfront, they received more applications than any other program. » more
